About John Smith
I started taking photographs as a small boy when I was given a Zeiss Ikon 6 x 6cm folding camera. When I first joined the Royal Air Force and was posted to Germany I obtained my first 35mm camera, a Voigtlander Vito BL. I then spent a few years using Pentax Spotmatics. Later I was posted to Singapore and converted to Canon cameras and have stayed with them ever since. My latest equipment consists of Canon EOS 5, EOS 5D, EOS 20D and a Pentax 67 medium format.
I started my adventure holiday company, White Peak Expeditions (www.whitepeakexpeditions.co.uk) in 1995 and most of the images on the web site have been taken on trekking and multi-activity trips in the last few years.
